Westphal, Augusta (est. 1996)

The Quad City area was home to Augusta Westphal for over 60 years. She was a graduate of Brown's Business College and worked at M.L. Parker and Cresent Macaroni and Cracker Co. as an auditor. Augusta showed her commitment to the area by her involvement in several community endeavors, in particular the Salvation Army and Davenport Woman's Club. A friend stated "Augusta told me she wanted her estate to be left to organizations where many people would reap the benefit." Her 1996 unrestricted gift to the Community Foundation accomplishes Miss Westphal's goal.
