Bill Vinyard was a bright and active student. He loved sports, especially skiing and tennis, and enjoyed spending time with all of his friends. Sadly, while a sophomore at Central High School, Bill and three other boys were killed in a car accident. To honor their son, T.L. and Jean Vinyard established a memorial fund to enhance the philanthropic capabilities of the Community Foundation and to translate their compassion and goodwill into action.

Contributions, such as this one, to the Foundation’s Community Impact Fund provide the organization with the greatest flexibility in responding to emerging community needs, innovative opportunities, and ongoing projects in the local area. The Foundation's Distribution Committee selects fund recipients in the areas of cultural programs, educational programs, health and human services, and community development. By entrusting the Bill Vinyard Memorial Fund to the Community Foundation, the Vinyards established a lasting tribute to their beloved son and will support their community forever.
