A Memorial to a Beloved Son
Mr. T. L. Vinyard has entrusted funds in memory of his son, Bill, to the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend. Bill was active in school activities and was a good student. He enjoyed sports especially skiing and had a host of friends. After Bill was killed at the age of fiteen in a car accident, a memorial was established with three other youths in his memory.
Mr. Vinyard's gift enhances the philanthropic capabilities of the Foundation and translates his compassion and goodwill into action that will make this area a better place to live. Contributions, as this one, to the Unrestricted Fund provide the Foundation with the greatest flexibility in responding to emerging communtiy needs, innovative oppurtunities, and ongoing projects in the service area. The Foundation's Distribution Committee select recipients in the areas of Cultural Programs, Educational Programs. Health and Human Services, and Community Developement to recieve fund from the unrestricted endowment fund income.
By entrusting the Bill Vinyard Memorial Funds to the Foundation he has established a lasting memorial to his son.
