During the 1960's and 1970's there were funds raised each year from a bowling tournament to benefit what was known as the Daily Times Milk Fund. After the mergers of various newspapers and changing interests of the bowling group there was an undisburded balance in the fund. These funds were turned over to the Community Foundation with the understanding that the fund would be set up for the benefit of the Visiting Nurse Association Milk Fund with the income being paid to VNA annually. The funds provide milk/formula to infants, children and pregnant or nursing mothers in financial need.
