Quad City Health Initiative
The Quad City Health Initiative (QCHI) was formed in 1998 as an outgrowth of a joint effort by the Boards of Trinity Regional Medical Center and Genesis Health System to make the Quad City community a healthy place to live. Support was enlisted from area leaders and organizations to form a broad based coalition whose mission is to develop a healthy community. A healthy community is not just a place free of disease, but a place where community members are safe and live in a sustainable environment with a thriving economy. It is the vision of the Quad City Health Initiative to create a community, through partnerships with others, which provides all citizens the opportunity to reach their full potential. The initial project of QCHI is to work with the Scott and Rock Island County Health Departments to ensure the appropriate enrollment of eligible children in the health insurance program of each respective state. The QCHI is looking for additional opportunities to serve as a convener and facilitator in order to promote and improve the health of the Quad City Community.
