Women Building Community Fund

The mission of Women Building Community is to inspire, encourage, and educate women to impact their community and enhance their lives through volunteering, leadership, and philanthropy.

The vision of Women Building Community is to empower every woman to impact the community through devoting time, talent, or treasure to causes.

The Community Foundation of the Great River Bend sees the need to recognize the good work being done by the women involved in the Women and have agreed to establish two funds for Women. The Women’s Endowment Fund will be funded by gifts from those who seek to support charitable activities that benefit women. Anyone giving $1,000 or more to the fund can participate in the process of grantmaking that will distribute annual support from the endowment fund. The gifts to this fund become a part of the permanent endowment of the Community Foundation.

The Women Building Community Fund will be funded by gifts from those who want to support the program activities of Women Building Community. It will not be endowed, and the entire fund is available to support the initiatives that Women Building Community undertakes. This fund will help to increase the number of women who can participate in programs by keeping the costs to participants at an affordable level. However, you do not have to donate money to be a part of the Women Building Community Steering Committee, we want to empower every woman to impact the community through devoting time, talent or treasure to causes.
