Runge, Shepherd B.
A Donor Advised Endowed Fund has been established in memory of Shepherd B. Runge. Shep grew up in the Quad City Community, attended Bettendorf schools and graduated from Denison University. As a student his interest in international economics and affairs led him to participate in the congressional office of Representative James Leach and also enroll in the Washington Semester Program at the American University serving with the Washington Analysis Corp. Upon graduation from college, he gained experience in finance working at the London office of the Swiss Bank for six months. By enrolling in the work camp programs sponsored by the British Friends (Quakers) Society, he met on a first hand basis many young people from those countries. He was associated with the California Office of G.T. Global, a Liechtenstein Global Trust member as an equity analyst for financial asset funds. He was an enthusiastic golfer, a loyal Redskins fan, and an avid reader. His generous and understanding nature enriched his abbreviated life with many good friendships. He had an untimely death in an automobile accident on his way to Lake Tahoe for a skiing weekend.
