Ralph Minor

Ralph Minor was born in Perry Oklahoma on October 16, 1897. He married Ruth Loar in 1920 and moved to DeWitt, Iowa, where they resided for their lifetime. Ralph ran a Chevrolet dealership with his brother from 1927 until 1942. He would introduce new Chevrolet models to the community wearing a long white mechanic coat.

In Ralph’s later years, he served as the city assessor and worked for Eclipse Lumber Company. He was a Cornerstone member of the United Methodist Church and a member of the DeWitt Masonic Lodge No. 43. He served as a board member on the DeWitt Community Hospital where he planned and assisted in building the facility. During Ralph’s lifetime, he was a generous contributor to the community. Ralph will be able to continue to give back to the community he loved through the Ralph Minor Endowment Fund. This fund was established with the DeWitt Area Community Foundation.

Mr. Minor’s wish for a better future for the next generation will be carried through by the Foundation.
